Paul and Joe have spent most of their lives in the board game community, Paul was a demonstrator for games at conventions like UKGE Comicon SITC etc and has been playing TCG's, Board games and the like for most of his life "I have learnt more systems than care to admit".

Joe is affectionately named the "LoreMaster" for all things Warhammer as he has dedicated most of his time in the Warhammer Grimdark Reading, Building, Painting and Playing along with TCG's like MTG and being a humble forever DM " I have my deathsaves tattooed on my arm and have never used them" They met at the Big C Wymondham when they first started getting Warhammer in, and going to the painting club.

After a couple months Joe took on the roll of advertising the painting events eventually calling it "Wyndhammer" which grew to a modest popularity, one day Paul was talking to Joe about his goal of opening a Local Game Store in Wymondham and asked if he would be interested in joining him.

A little while later Joe sent Paul a message just saying "Let's do it" Plans started pretty quickly with the goal of opening an online store in 2026 then hopefully opening a Brick and Mortar store in 2027 however everything just sort of fell in line and bam May the 3rd came and a brick and mortar store opened with a great boom "We were hoping for maybe 30 people and we had 120 through the door along with our local MP which was insane"-Paul Every single day because he still can't get over it.

Do you offer food and drink?

We have a wide variety of cold drinks, snacks, tea and coffee available day to day with some events having Circus Head come down to pitch up a portable coffee house!
Who is Paul?

Hi I am Paul one of the owners of Lich Games I have spent most of my Life dreaming of running a game store, when I stopped wanting to be a dinosaur due to "not being possible". I have spent most of my life in the Board game community previously being a demonstrator for the company Esdevium(which changed to Asmodee) and considering I have never left Norfolk for any personal time I have travelled around the UK going to many conventions to work and also local stores to demonstrate games. I have also spent most of my life living in wymondham or Spooner Row. As someone who relies on public transport and used to drive a motorbike I know first hand how annoying,and expensive, it can be to have to travel all the way to Norwich for a couple games of Yu-Gi-OH or a DND session; So I thought I would like a nice friendly Local Game store in Wymondham so why wouldn't others? Here we are present day with a store that the local community has accepted and which is coming and growing an amazing community of friendly gamers! I am always happy to talk to anyone about anything and if you have a game system I have never heard of I am always happy to learn about it and even get a game in whenever possible! Finally I am a huge animal nut and love all and every creature which is fantastic as here at Ayton House there has been a crow couple who has been living here for around 10 years and since April 2025 I have been slowly befriending them and feeding them so if you ever come down on a quiet day or early in the morning you may see me sat outside feeding my two crows Billy and Bones!
Is there parking available?

We have ample parking in front and behind the shop that is all free for visitors of Lich games and Ayton house.
What events do you run?

We want to run events for any and all games/systems but at present we are running them for games we are confident in (Warhammmer 40k and AOS 1000 point, Spearhead, MTG, Gaslands) along with running days once a week for different systems, currently we run DND(all TTRPG's welcome) Tuesday nights and want to start running weekly events for Warhammer 40k, AOS, Killteam, Spearhead, Oldworld, Gaslands and many more but we just have to figure out how without us needing to live at the store 24/7.
What do you stock?

We stock a small selection of games at current, Warhammer, MTG, Yu-Gi-Oh, Painting/building accessories and DND accessories (so many cool dice, dicebags, dice jails, roll mats/trays custom storage for your character sheets etc made by Black Wolf Creative a local to Wymondham who is a leather worker Dice maker and MDF genius) Allthough we only stock a small amount we do have access to order specific things in for people and if we ever do we will knock 10% off the RRP so if you are after anything just pop in and have a chat or shoot us a message/email
Who is Joe?

Hey I am Joe one of the owners of Lich Games probably one of the unluckiest people to play games in the world so much so I now have a Loss counter on our wall, if you ever come in and beat me in a game you can add a mark to the counter, Even though I have spent so many years learning the ins and outs of Warhammer in general the dice always betray me! I have also spent a long time playing MTG, mainly commander format now, along with DM'ing a 6 year long DND campaign and, like Paul, I have also spent most of my time travelling to Norwich for my games which hurts the pockets especially after you spend so much money on the hobby then having to spend money just on parking alone now just hurts. I to have spent a lot of my life in Wymondham and Norfolk, having a brief stint as an outdoor instructor in Scotland until covid hit and I came back down to Wymondham where I now live. I am always happy to Lore dump and just talk in general about anything warhammer MTG DND and just Table Top Games in general and just as Paul said am always happy for a game, or most likely loss, of anything whenever I get a chance!
Do you have disabled access?

Yes, as the main entrance has a few steps to get to, there is a ramp along the side of the shop to allow access to the building for anyone who requires a ramp. We also accessable toilets on the property for those who require them.
How much does it cost to play here?

It is absolutely free! On a day to day bases we do not charge anything for table space. All we ask is if you are planning to run a game here that would require space to please send us an email with how much space and what time you require so we can reserve you a spot!
What can we do here?

The store is designed to be a community hub for all types of games to be played in everything from dobble to big titan 40k fights. We are a welcoming store that does not charge for table space you can just turn up and play! However on weekends and events days we do suggest messaging us in advanced or booking a table on the site just in case we are at max capacity avoid disappointment
